Description

These avocado chicken flautas are crispy, flavorful, and paired with a sweet-tangy honey lime dipping sauce—perfect for parties or dinner.

Ingredients

For the Flautas:

2 cups cooked chicken, shredded

1 ripe avocado, mashed

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 cup green onion, chopped

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1/2 teaspoon chili powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

8 small flour tortillas

1 cup vegetable oil (for frying)

For the Honey Lime Dipping Sauce:

2 tablespoons honey

2 tablespoons lime juice

1/4 teaspoon chili powder (optional)

Instructions

Prepare Filling: In a bowl, mix shredded chicken, mashed avocado, cheddar cheese, green onions, garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.

Warm Tortillas: Microwave tortillas for about 20 seconds to soften and make them easier to roll.

Assemble Flautas: Spoon 2–3 tablespoons of the filling into each tortilla. Roll tightly into a cigar shape.

Fry: Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry flautas seam-side down, 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy. Work in batches.

Drain: Remove flautas and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Make Dipping Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, lime juice, and chili powder (if using).

Serve: Serve warm flautas with dipping sauce on the side.

Notes

Use rotisserie chicken for a quick prep shortcut.

Substitute corn tortillas for a gluten-free version (and lightly fry them first to soften).

Air fryer friendly: Cook at 375°F for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Add jalapeños or hot sauce for a spicier filling.
