Description

These soft and chewy peanut butter cookies get a fun twist with chocolate paw print designs—perfect for parties, pet-themed events, or just because!

Ingredients

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup creamy peanut butter

1 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract

1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup chocolate chips (for paw print)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C); line baking sheet with parchment.

Cream butter and peanut butter until fluffy.

Add sugar, egg, and vanilla; mix until smooth.

Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to wet ingredients.

Roll dough into tablespoon-sized balls. Place 2 inches apart on baking sheet.

Flatten slightly with fork in criss-cross pattern.

Bake 8–10 minutes until edges are golden.

Cool 2–3 minutes on sheet, then transfer to rack.

Melt chocolate chips.

Decorate cookies with a large dot of chocolate and three small dots above to form paw prints.

Let chocolate set before serving.

Notes

You can use chunky peanut butter for extra texture.

Dough can be made ahead and refrigerated for 2 days or frozen.

Cookies freeze well after baking—store with parchment layers.

Paw print decoration time varies depending on detail.
