This hearty casserole layers crispy fries, seasoned beef, melted cheddar, and tangy burger sauce for a comforting twist on a classic cheeseburger.
Ingredients
For the bake:
2 lbs ground beef (80–85% lean)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
1 bag (20 oz) frozen shoestring French fries
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup sliced pickled jalapeños (optional)
For the burger sauce:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp yellow mustard
1 tbsp dill pickle relish
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp garlic powder
Pinch of salt and pepper
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Brown beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. Drain fat. Season with spices.
Bake fries until crispy, about 20–25 minutes.
Mix burger sauce ingredients in a bowl.
Layer half of the fries, beef, sauce, and cheese in the baking dish. Repeat. Add jalapeños on top if using.
Bake for 10–12 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Rest 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Use tater tots or waffle fries for a twist.
Add bacon or sautéed onions for extra flavor.
