Description
Savory, melty, and wrapped in pizza dough, these taco sticks are the perfect handheld Tex-Mex snack or game-day appetizer.
Ingredients
1 package refrigerated pizza dough
½ lb ground beef or turkey
1 packet taco seasoning
¼ cup water
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
¼ cup chopped green onions
1 tbsp olive oil (for brushing)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Optional for serving: ¼ cup salsa or guacamole
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment.
Cook ground meat in a skillet over medium heat until browned; drain fat. Add taco seasoning and water, simmer 2–3 minutes until thickened. Let cool slightly.
Roll dough into a large rectangle on a floured surface. Spread taco meat evenly, leaving a small border.
Top with cheddar cheese and green onions.
Roll dough tightly into a log from the long side. Slice into 1–2″ pieces.
Place on the baking sheet, brush tops with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper.
Bake 15–18 minutes until golden and cheese is bubbly.
Serve warm with salsa or guacamole for dipping.
Notes
Add black beans, jalapeños, or bell peppers for extra flavor.
Use pepper jack for a spicier kick.
For vegetarian options, substitute meat with seasoned lentils or plant-based crumbles.
Assemble ahead and refrigerate before baking.
