Description
Crispy golden pockets filled with creamy chicken Alfredo and melty mozzarella—these easy air fryer calzones are a weeknight dinner win.
Ingredients
Calzone Filling:
1 cup cooked chicken, shredded
1 cup Alfredo sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp Italian seasoning
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
Dough:
1 package (16 oz) refrigerated pizza dough
All-purpose flour, for dusting
Finishing:
1 tbsp olive oil (for brushing)
1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine shredded chicken, Alfredo sauce, mozzarella, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out pizza dough to about ¼ inch thick. Cut into 4 equal squares.
Place ~⅓ cup of filling into the center of each dough square.
Fold over the dough to form a triangle or rectangle pocket. Press edges firmly to seal; crimp with a fork if desired.
Brush tops with olive oil. Then brush with beaten egg for a golden finish.
Arrange calzones in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between them.
Air fry for 10–12 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
Let cool for 1 minute before serving. Enjoy!
Notes
Make sure calzones are well sealed to avoid leakage during cooking.
Add cooked spinach or sautéed mushrooms to the filling for a twist.
Calzones can be made ahead and refrigerated (uncooked) for up to 24 hours.
