Ingredients
1 cup rolled oats
2 cups milk (dairy or plant-based)
1 tablespoon brown sugar or maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch of salt
Optional Cinnamon Swirl Topping:
1 tablespoon softened butter
1 tablespoon brown sugar
½ teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
In a saucepan, combine oats, milk, sweetener, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Reduce heat and simmer for 5–7 minutes until thickened and creamy.
In a small bowl, mix swirl topping ingredients until smooth.
Spoon oatmeal into bowls and swirl in the topping. Serve warm.
Notes
Add diced apples, raisins, or chopped nuts for texture.
For protein, stir in a scoop of vanilla protein powder or nut butter.
A drizzle of cream or almond butter enhances the richness.
