This creamy ranch chicken skillet features tender chicken in a rich, flavorful ranch sauce, making it the perfect one-pan dinner for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
For the Chicken:
2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons melted butter
1–2 tablespoons olive oil
For the Sauce:
1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup
1 cup milk
¾ cup sour cream (room temperature)
¼ cup chicken broth
2 tablespoons ranch seasoning mix (dry seasoning, not dip)
½ teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried parsley
Optional:
Bacon pieces
Shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
Slice chicken breasts into 2–3 thinner cutlets (~½″ thick).
Season both sides with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Brush one side with melted butter.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken, buttered side down first, for 4–5 minutes per side until golden. Remove and set aside.
Wipe skillet clean, then add cream of chicken soup, milk, sour cream, chicken broth, ranch seasoning, onion powder, and parsley. Stir and simmer gently for 5 minutes.
Return chicken to skillet, spoon sauce over top, cover partially, and simmer for 10 minutes until chicken is cooked through.
Optional: Top with shredded cheddar and bacon pieces, then broil briefly until cheese melts and browns.
Notes
Add cayenne or hot sauce for spice.
Use reduced-fat sour cream and low-sodium soup for lighter options.
Add veggies like spinach, mushrooms, or broccoli for extra nutrition.
Substitute cheeses or mix for different flavors.
