Description
This crispy honey garlic glazed salmon is pan-seared to perfection with a sweet, savory, and sticky glaze that’s ready in minutes.
Ingredients
4 salmon fillets (skin-on or skinless, about 6 oz each)
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons cornstarch (for a crispy coating)
2 tablespoons olive oil
For the Honey Garlic Glaze:
1/4 cup honey
3 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
3–4 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon rice vinegar or lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional, for heat)
1 tablespoon water + 1 teaspoon cornstarch (for thickening, optional)
Instructions
Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
Lightly coat each fillet in cornstarch to help achieve crispiness.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add salmon fillets, skin-side down if using, and sear for 4–5 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Remove from pan and set aside.
In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add honey, soy sauce, garlic, vinegar or lemon juice, and chili flakes (if using).
Simmer for 1–2 minutes. Optional: Stir in cornstarch slurry to thicken sauce.
Return salmon to the pan, spoon sauce over the top, and cook for another 1–2 minutes until glazed.
Serve immediately with extra sauce spooned over top.
Notes
Make sure the pan is hot before adding salmon to get a crisp crust.
Use skin-on salmon for extra crispiness and flavor.
Pairs well with rice, steamed veggies, or noodles.
Sauce can be doubled for drizzling over sides.
