Description

Frozen meatballs meet French onion soup in this easy slow cooker recipe—finished with melted cheese for the ultimate cozy meal.

Ingredients

26 oz bag of frozen homestyle meatballs

1 small onion, sliced

1 can (10.5 oz) French onion soup

1 packet (1 oz) Lipton Onion Soup Mix

1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese (or Swiss/Mozzarella)

Optional for thickening:

12 tablespoons cornstarch

12 tablespoons water

Instructions

Prepare Crock Pot: Add frozen meatballs to the slow cooker.

Add Flavor Base: Top with sliced onions, pour in French onion soup, and sprinkle the dry soup mix. Lightly stir to combine.

Slow Cook: Cover and cook on low for 4–6 hours or high for 3–4 hours.

Add Cheese: Sprinkle shredded cheese on top before serving. Cover to melt.

Optional Thickening: Mix water and cornstarch, stir into crock pot during the last 30 minutes if a thicker gravy is desired.

Notes

Use homemade meatballs for extra flavor and control.

Swap cheeses based on preference—Gruyère, Swiss, or mozzarella all work well.

Enhance with herbs like thyme or parsley, or spice it up with red pepper flakes.
