Description

These crockpot French onion meatballs are pure comfort in every bite — juicy beef meatballs slow-cooked in savory broth and topped with melty mozzarella cheese. A must-try cozy dinner!

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

½ cup breadcrumbs

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 egg

1 onion, finely chopped

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

2 cups beef broth

1 packet French onion soup mix

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

Prepare the Meatballs: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Form Meatballs: Roll the mixture into evenly sized meatballs.

Add to Crockpot: Place the meatballs into the crockpot.

Add Broth & Soup Mix: In a separate bowl, whisk together beef broth and French onion soup mix, then pour over the meatballs.

Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours.

Add Cheese: Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the top and cook for an additional 15 minutes, until melted and bubbly.

Notes

Serve with crusty bread for soaking up the rich sauce.

You can prepare the meatballs ahead of time and freeze for later use.

Adjust salt and pepper to taste — soup mix adds sodium.

For extra flavor, brown the meatballs before adding them to the crockpot.
