Description

These soft, sweet cookies are bursting with cotton candy flavor and fun colors—perfect for parties, birthdays, or just because.

Ingredients

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

¾ cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

¼ teaspoon almond extract

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon baking powder

¼ teaspoon baking soda

¼ teaspoon salt

Pink and blue gel food coloring

Optional: Cotton candy flavoring oil (1–2 drops), sprinkles or cotton candy for garnish

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cream butter and sugar together in a bowl until light and fluffy.

Add egg, vanilla, and almond extract (plus cotton candy flavoring if using). Mix until smooth.

In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients until a dough forms.

Divide dough into two equal parts. Tint one pink and the other blue using gel food coloring.

Pinch off small bits of each colored dough and gently swirl or press together into 1-inch balls for a marbled effect.

Place on baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart. Flatten slightly with your hand or the bottom of a glass.

Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until edges are set and centers are soft. Don’t overbake.

Cool on pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Add sprinkles or a puff of cotton candy on top if serving immediately.

Notes

Cotton candy flavoring oil is optional but adds authentic flavor. Use sparingly—it’s strong!

Cookies will continue to set as they cool.

Store in an airtight container for 4–5 days.

Add funfetti or pastel sprinkles for extra flair.
