Description
Crunchy fried chicken coated in a flavorful honey garlic sauce—perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy inside for an irresistible dinner.
Ingredients
For the Chicken:
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 cups all-purpose flour
4 tablespoons cornstarch
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons black pepper
1 tablespoon paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 large eggs
4 tablespoons water
Vegetable oil for frying
For the Honey Garlic Sauce:
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
Flatten the chicken breasts to an even thickness.
In a large bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.
In another bowl, whisk eggs with water to create an egg wash.
Dredge each chicken breast in the seasoned flour, dip into the egg wash, then coat again in the flour mixture.
Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry chicken for 5-6 minutes per side until golden and crispy, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C). Drain on paper towels.
For the sauce, heat olive oil in a saucepan, sauté garlic until fragrant. Stir in honey, soy sauce, and black pepper, simmer for 2-3 minutes until it thickens.
Drizzle the honey garlic sauce over the chicken before serving or serve it on the side.
Notes
Add chili flakes to the sauce for a spicy kick.
Use chicken thighs for extra juiciness.
For a lighter version, bake the chicken instead of frying.
Top with toasted sesame seeds for added crunch.
