Description
The perfect fall treat made simple! These easy caramel apples are glossy, gooey, and loaded with festive flavor—no candy shop needed. Just dip, decorate, and enjoy.
Ingredients
6–8 small apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Pink Lady)
6–8 sturdy sticks (wooden dowels, craft sticks, or skewers)
12 ounces soft caramels, unwrapped
2 tablespoons heavy cream
Assorted toppings: chopped nuts, sprinkles, crushed cookies, melted chocolate, etc.
Instructions
Prep the apples: Wash apples in hot water to remove wax. Dry thoroughly. Remove stems and insert sticks. Chill for 15–20 minutes.
Melt the caramel: In a saucepan, melt caramels with heavy cream over low heat, stirring until smooth.
Dip the apples: Hold each apple by its stick and dip into caramel, swirling to coat. Let excess drip off.
Add toppings: Roll in or sprinkle on toppings while caramel is still warm.
Let set: Place on parchment-lined baking sheet to cool completely before serving or wrapping.
Notes
Smaller apples are easier to dip and eat, especially for kids.
Scrubbing off the wax coating is essential for caramel to stick properly.
Keep toppings ready in bowls before you start dipping—caramel sets quickly.
For a gourmet twist, drizzle with chocolate or add flaky sea salt.
