These rich caramel pecan turtle bars feature a buttery shortbread crust, gooey caramel, toasted pecans, and melty chocolate—perfect for holiday baking or anytime indulgence.
Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
¼ cup powdered sugar
½ cup butter, softened
½ cup caramel sauce
1 cup pecan halves
1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a medium bowl, mix flour and powdered sugar. Cut in softened butter until a dough forms.
Press dough into an 8×8-inch baking dish. Bake for 15–18 minutes, until lightly golden.
While crust bakes, warm caramel sauce over low heat.
Pour warm caramel over baked crust. Sprinkle with pecans. Bake another 5 minutes.
Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let melt, then spread evenly.
Cool completely before slicing into bars.
Notes
Use dark chocolate chips or sprinkle sea salt for a deeper flavor.
Stir chopped nuts into caramel for extra texture.
Substitute pecans with walnuts, almonds, or cashews.
