Description
This creamy shrimp pie is a coastal comfort dish made with tender shrimp, Old Bay seasoning, and cheddar cheese in a flaky golden crust.
Ingredients
1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 onion, chopped
1/4 cup bell pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Sauté onion, bell pepper, and garlic in olive oil over medium heat for 3–4 minutes.
Add shrimp and cook 2–3 minutes until pink. Remove from heat.
In a saucepan, whisk cream, flour, Old Bay, paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.
Stir shrimp mixture into sauce. Mix in cheddar until melted.
Pour into pie crust in a 9-inch dish.
Bake 25–30 minutes, until crust is golden and filling is bubbling.
Let cool slightly and garnish with parsley before serving.
Notes
Add spinach, corn, or use puff pastry for variation.
Substitute crab or mixed seafood for shrimp.
Make filling ahead for easy assembly later.
