Delicious fried Nutella pancake sandwiches with crispy golden batter, gooey chocolate hazelnut filling, and a sweet cinnamon sugar coating.
Ingredients
For the Pancake Batter:
1½ cups milk
1 tbsp white vinegar or lemon juice
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
¼ cup caster sugar
¼ cup vegetable oil
½ cup hot water
For the Sandwich:
10–12 slices white bread
2 tbsp milk (for brushing)
Nutella (for stuffing)
For Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
¾ cup caster sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
In a small bowl, mix milk and vinegar. Let sit 5–10 minutes to make buttermilk.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and sugar.
Add buttermilk, vegetable oil, and hot water to dry ingredients; mix until smooth batter forms.
Heat oil in a frying pan for frying.
To assemble sandwiches, brush one side of two bread slices with milk. Flatten with rolling pin.
Spread Nutella on one slice; top with the other slice and seal edges.
Cut off crusts using a cutter or knife.
Dip each sandwich in pancake batter, removing excess batter.
Fry sandwiches for 2 minutes per side until golden brown.
Combine cinnamon and sugar in a bowl.
While warm, roll fried sandwiches in cinnamon sugar to coat evenly.
Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
Use fresh bread for best texture.
