Crispy, golden funnel cake bites just like the fair—dusted with powdered sugar and ready in minutes for a sweet treat anytime.
Ingredients
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1 ½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
½ tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
⅛ tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
¾ cup milk (whole or preferred variety)
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
Vegetable oil (for deep frying)
Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
In a medium bowl, beat the eggs until foamy. Whisk in the milk and vanilla.
In another bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Stir dry ingredients into wet until batter is smooth and slightly thicker than pancake batter.
Heat oil in a deep pot to 360–375°F (182–190°C).
Drop batter by tablespoonfuls into the hot oil, frying each side for 1–2 minutes until golden brown.
Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.
Notes
Yields 30–40 bites depending on size.
Optional: roll in cinnamon sugar for extra flavor.
Best served fresh, but can be reheated in an oven or air fryer at 350°F for a few minutes.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 day.
Serve with chocolate, caramel, or berry dipping sauces.
