Description

Juicy burgers layered with sweet teriyaki sauce, grilled pineapple, and savory toppings for a tropical twist on a classic favorite.

Ingredients

lbs ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp onion powder

Salt and black pepper to taste

½ cup teriyaki sauce (plus extra for basting)

4 pineapple rings (fresh or canned, drained)

4 slices provolone or Swiss cheese

4 burger buns, toasted

Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato slices, red onion, mayonnaise

Instructions

Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.

In a bowl, mix ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 equal patties.

Grill patties for 3–4 minutes per side or until nearly cooked to your preference. Brush with teriyaki sauce during the last minute of cooking.

While burgers cook, grill pineapple rings for 1–2 minutes per side until caramelized.

Add cheese to the patties and close the grill lid to melt.

Assemble burgers: place patty on bun, top with grilled pineapple, desired toppings, and more teriyaki sauce.

Serve immediately.

Notes

Use Hawaiian sweet rolls or buns for extra tropical flair.

Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.

Add a fried egg for a deluxe version!
