Description

Warm, comforting Instant Pot oatmeal with apple and cinnamon—ready in minutes! A cozy fall breakfast made with steel-cut oats, fresh apples, and sweet spice.

Ingredients

1 cup steel-cut oats

2 cups water (or milk for creamier oats)

1 large apple, peeled and chopped

2 Tbsp butter or coconut oil

1 Tbsp brown sugar or maple syrup

1 tsp ground cinnamon

¼ tsp kosher salt

Optional toppings: chopped nuts, extra diced apples, maple syrup drizzle

Instructions

Sauté Oats and Apples:
Turn on Instant Pot to Sauté mode. Melt butter, add oats and chopped apple. Cook, stirring often, for 2–5 minutes to toast oats and enhance flavor.

Add Remaining Ingredients:
Stir in water (or milk), sweetener, cinnamon, and salt. Make sure oats are submerged and nothing sticks to the bottom.

Pressure Cook:
Seal the lid. Cook on high pressure for 7 minutes. Let pressure naturally release for 10 minutes, then quick-release any remaining steam.

Stir and Serve:
Open lid and stir the oatmeal. Add a splash of milk if you prefer it looser. Spoon into bowls and top with your favorite toppings.

Notes

Use the pot-in-pot method for easier cleanup.

For creamier oatmeal, swap water for whole milk or oat milk.

Stir in a spoonful of applesauce or a dash of nutmeg for extra spice.

Great with toppings like chopped pecans, toasted coconut, or Greek yogurt.
