Description

Crispy, golden, and full of flavor, this nutritional yeast tofu is quick to make in the oven or air fryer. A high-protein vegan snack or meal topper ready in minutes.

Ingredients

1 block (about 14 oz / 400 g) extra firm tofu

4 tablespoons nutritional yeast

1 tablespoon cornstarch

½ teaspoon fine sea salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

Prepare Tofu:

Open tofu package and drain excess water. Do not press or dry.

Tear tofu into irregular, bite-sized chunks with your hands and place in a bowl.

Season:

Add nutritional yeast, cornstarch, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Toss well to evenly coat tofu. Cook immediately — do not let it sit.

Air Fryer Method:

Lightly oil the air fryer basket.

Place tofu in a single layer. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 15–20 minutes, tossing halfway through, until golden and crunchy.

Oven Method:

Preheat oven to 425°F (218°C).

Spread tofu on a lined baking tray.

Bake for 30–35 minutes, flipping once, until crispy and golden.

Notes

Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Reheating: Reheat in the oven at 350°F for 10 minutes, or air fryer at 350°F for 4–5 minutes.

Enjoy hot or cold as a snack, in bowls, salads, or wraps.
