These Philly steak & cheese fries are loaded with tender sliced steak, sautéed peppers, and a creamy cheese sauce—perfect for game day or comfort food cravings.
Ingredients
1 bag (28–32 oz) thick-cut frozen fries (crinkle or steak style)
1 Tbsp olive oil (for steak)
¾ lb ribeye, sirloin, or Denver steak, thinly sliced
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 Tbsp olive oil (for vegetables)
½ cup sliced green bell pepper
½ cup sliced onion
Cheese Sauce:
½ cup half-and-half or milk
3 slices American cheese
½ cup shredded cheddar or provolone
Optional Toppings:
Sliced jalapeños, banana peppers, pickled jalapeños, sliced green onions
Instructions
Cook frozen fries in the oven or air fryer according to package directions until crispy. Set aside.
Heat 1 Tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak, season with salt and pepper, and sear for about 3–4 minutes per side until browned. Remove to a plate.
In the same skillet, heat another 1 Tbsp olive oil and sauté bell peppers and onions for 4–5 minutes until soft.
In a saucepan over medium heat, warm the half-and-half. Add cheeses and whisk until smooth and creamy.
Arrange fries on a platter or skillet. Top with steak, peppers, and onions. Pour cheese sauce generously over everything.
Garnish with your favorite toppings and serve immediately while hot and melty.
Notes
Swap in provolone or mozzarella for a cheesier stretch.
Sautéed mushrooms or crispy bacon make delicious add-ons.
For extra spice, drizzle hot sauce or ranch dressing before serving.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in oven or air fryer at 375 °F for best texture.
