Description
Creamy brie baked to perfection and topped with honey, nuts, and olives—an irresistible sweet and savory appetizer for any occasion.
Ingredients
1 whole brie or camembert (250–300 g)
2 tablespoons liquid honey
1 handful dried fruits: almonds, hazelnuts, cashews (or a mix)
4 green olives, halved or sliced
1 teaspoon fresh or dried thyme
Freshly ground black pepper
Bread or country bread, sliced (for serving)
Instructions
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Prepare the Brie: Place the brie in a baking dish or on parchment paper to catch any overflow. Make light incisions on the top of the brie to allow the flavors to penetrate.
Add the Toppings: Drizzle the honey evenly over the surface of the brie. Arrange the dried fruits and olives on top. Sprinkle with thyme and a few twists of black pepper.
Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is warm and just starting to melt. Watch closely to prevent overflows.
Serve: Remove from the oven and serve hot in the baking dish. Accompany with slices of bread or crackers for dipping into the melted cheese.
Gourmet Tips:
Add a pinch of fleur de sel to balance the sweetness of the honey.
Swap olives for dried cranberries for a festive twist.
Lightly toast the dried fruits for extra crunch before adding them to the cheese.
Notes
This dish can be made in a variety of ways, adding different dried fruits or nuts to suit your taste.
If you’re using a larger brie, adjust the cooking time slightly to ensure it melts evenly.
