Ingredients
1 lb ground turkey
¼ cup breadcrumbs
¼ cup diced red onion
¼ cup chopped cilantro
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon chili powder
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon smoked paprika
1 lime, juiced
Salt and pepper, to taste
4 whole wheat burger buns
Optional Toppings:
Sliced avocado
Salsa
Lettuce
Sliced tomato
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, onion, cilantro, cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, lime juice, salt, and pepper.
Mix gently until just combined—don’t overmix.
Form into 4 equal patties.
Heat a skillet or grill to medium-high and lightly oil it.
Cook burgers 5–6 minutes per side, until browned and internal temp reaches 165°F (74°C).
Toast the burger buns while patties cook.
Assemble burgers with your favorite toppings and serve immediately.
Notes
Add jalapeños or cayenne to the mix for extra heat.
Serve in lettuce wraps for a low-carb option.
Pepper jack cheese makes a melty, spicy topping.
Parsley or green onions can replace cilantro if needed.
