Description

These easy-to-make strawberry cream cheese danishes are made with puff pastry, filled with a smooth cream cheese filling, and topped with sweet strawberry preserves for a perfect breakfast or dessert treat.

Ingredients

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

1/2 cup strawberry preserves

1/4 cup cream cheese, softened

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 egg (for egg wash)

1 tablespoon milk (for egg wash)

Optional: fresh strawberry slices for garnish

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

On a floured surface, unfold puff pastry and cut into four equal squares.

Beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Spoon cream cheese mixture onto the center of each square, then top with strawberry preserves.

Fold corners toward center, sealing gently to form a pinwheel or envelope shape.

Whisk egg and milk for egg wash; brush over pastries.

Bake 15–18 minutes until golden and puffed.

Garnish with fresh strawberries if desired; cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Swap strawberry preserves with raspberry, blueberry, or peach preserves.

Add lemon zest to cream cheese filling for tang.

Drizzle with powdered sugar glaze after baking for extra sweetness.

Freeze assembled pastries before baking for easy make-ahead.
