Description
A cozy and easy summer dessert with sweet mixed berries and a golden oat topping—perfect served warm with ice cream or cool with yogurt.
Ingredients
Berry Filling:
2 cups mixed berries (raspberries, blueberries, strawberries)
1 Tbsp lemon juice
2 Tbsp granulated sugar (or maple syrup)
1 tsp vanilla extract
Oat Crumble Topping:
1 cup rolled oats
½ cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)
⅓ cup brown sugar
¼ tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp salt
¼ cup (½ stick) cold unsalted butter, cubed
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C).
Toss berries with lemon juice, sugar (or maple syrup), and vanilla. Spread in a greased 8×8″ baking dish.
In a bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
Add cold butter and use fingers or a pastry cutter to form pea-sized crumbs.
Sprinkle crumble evenly over berries.
Bake uncovered for 40–50 minutes, until bubbling and golden.
Let rest 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Add nuts like pecans or walnuts to the topping for crunch.
Use maple syrup for a richer sweetness or toss berries with cornstarch to reduce runniness.
Serve warm with ice cream or chilled with yogurt.
